María Corina Machado: It is not so easy to disqualify the one who wins the primaries

The coordinator of Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado, the election of the opposition candidate is a matter of building forces, and “whoever wins will have the legitimacy and support of Venezuelans and the international community”

María Corina Machado, coordinator of the political organization Sell Venezuela, considers that “it is not so easy for the regime to disqualify the one who wins the primaries.” He says that the candidate who wins in these elections is the one who must face Nicolás Maduro in the 2024 presidential elections, “if I win, it will be me; if he wins another, it will be that other ».

Machado maintains that it cannot be accepted that it is the regime that chooses the opposition candidate, as he says: «If we accept that the one who wins is discarded, why do we hold primaries? Let’s once and for all let the regime say.”

In Machado’s opinion, since the election of the opposition candidate is a matter of building forces, “the one who wins will have the legitimacy and support of Venezuelans and the international community.”

Candidate Machado formalized her registration with the National Primary Commission (CP) on the morning of Friday, June 23. The leader herself was accompanied by militants from her party and organizations that support her, such as Alianza Bravo Pueblo (ABP).
