During an interview with the media Infobae, the Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado referred to the actions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in its investigation into the Venezuela case. “Duly documented crimes continue to be committed in Venezuela,” he warned.
Opposition leader María Corina Machado asserted that President Nicolás Maduro is the one who is against the wall and not the country’s democratic forces. For the founder of Vente Venezuela, the ruler should understand that his best option is to accept a negotiated transition.
The assertions were made during an interview with Infobae. In his opinion, Maduro is at his weakest point in 25 years. «There has never been a degree of illegitimacy as profound as there is today; As experts told me these days, it is the best documented fraud in the history of humanity,” he said.
He added that Maduro is “more isolated every day” and facing an international community “that is acting.” He highlighted the positions that the presidents of Argentina and Chile, Javier Milei and Gabriel Boric, respectively, have established regarding the elections.
«Maduro has a period between now and January 10, where he has certain conditions that are more favorable for him to accept the terms of a negotiation and when January 10 arrives there are two options: Edmundo González is sworn in as the Constitution mandates and we have a great victory, or Maduro decides to extend this and stay by force, with which he has a great defeat. So the one who is facing the wall is Maduro, not the democratic forces. We are going with everything forward until the end,” he added.

According to Machado, within Chavismo there are divisions that are currently very evident. He recalled that in “Venezuela there is an operation called the Republic Plan, which is a deployment of tens of thousands of military citizens in all the voting centers of the country, they are inside the voting centers themselves and have the responsibility of preserving the material, the security of the premises, etc. He stated that the officials received orders that they could not let opposition witnesses in, but, he added, “the reality is that we collected 85% of the records. And that was largely due to the cooperation we had from the members of the Plan República, who disobeyed those orders.
Machado referred to the actions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in its investigation into the Venezuela case. “Properly documented crimes continue to be committed in Venezuela,” he warned. Precisely this is the demand for which he called on all Venezuelans this Sunday to join a new global protest against the dictatorship.
He mentioned the arrival of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States and highlighted that his influence can help reestablish democracy.
