María Corina Machado: Choice of opposition leader should be now, not in three years

The representative of the Azulona awning María Corina Machado analyzed that at the moment “what is best for the regime is to see this crowd getting into an electoral fair, with whistles and flags, promoting candidates in a fantasy country that is controlled by tyranny ”

The political leader and national coordinator of Vente Venezuela, Maria Corina Machado, referred this Wednesday to the need to choose a new opposition leadership. “But not three years from now, it must be today.”

“For there to be a real election in Venezuela, we first have to choose a new political leadership,” Machado said in a video posted on his social networks.

In this sense, Machado stressed that for the opposition to participate in the 2024 elections, five conditions must be met to guarantee “free and fair elections.”

“Zero CNE, zero TSJ, zero Republic Plan, manual voting and that all Venezuelans, both inside and outside the country, can vote,” he said.

Machado also highlighted the need to differentiate between those who really oppose the regime of Nicolás Maduro and those who cooperate with him. “Everyone knows, by now there is no naivety, what the nature of these guys is and what they are doing. They want at all costs to simulate stabilization, whiten their faces, paint facades, make up universities and hide the hunger and pain of Venezuelans.

“Don’t count on us to clean up Maduro’s face and clean up his crimes before the ICC, don’t count on us to simulate a normalization that tries to make the world believe that Venezuela is fixing itself, don’t count on us to accept a penny from the figureheads who intend to give instructions to pseudo-oppositionists, nor to accept crumbs or sell the idea that the regime wants to hold a clean and free election for 2024,” he said.

Finally, Machado analyzed that at this time “what is best for the regime is to see this crowd getting into an electoral fair, with whistles and flags, promoting candidates in a fantasy country that is controlled by tyranny.”
