The Municipality of Santiago de Surco yesterday executed an inspection and demolition operation against various constructions considered illegal in the Monterrico Álamos area. However, the day culminated wrapped in a strong controversy by confirming La suspension of the demolition order in a specific homedirectly linked to controversial María Acuña case.
According to the Sunday ‘end point’, The municipal intervention proceeded to demolish structures and walls that invaded public areas in various parts of the sector. However, when arriving at the property in question, the execution of the demolition was paralyzed by the presence of an unidentified woman, which was placed on the second floor.
The mayor of Surco,Carlos BruceHe said in this regard that they do not have the authorization to enter the house and withdraw people who prevented demolition. “We cannot attempt against human lives, and also that the authorization we have of the judge to intervene does not include that we can enter the houses, we can only recover the areas that correspond to the municipality,” he said.
He added that the case of María Acuña is the only one, so far, that in the invaded area a three -story house has built. This is precisely what Mayor Bruce emphasizes: “It is not true that she has a license issued by the municipality that authorizes the construction of three floors.” He added that according to the records of the National Superintendence of Public Registries (Sunarp), the congresswoman’s house only has permission for two -story construction, not three.
For its part, the defense of the congresswoman indicated that the area of the property that supposedly invades public areas does not belong to the Municipality of Surco, but is part of the common spaces of the condominium where the property is located.
The Municipality, meanwhile, argues that the operation aims Recover green spaces and free areas that have been unduly usurped by neighbors to use them as private gardens or extensions of their homes.
