Actress Margalida Castro died on December 19. The news was confirmed that same afternoon by Claudia Serrato, her representative, through Instagram.
“It is with deep sadness that I inform you that my dear actress and friend Margalida Castro passed away, a victim of cancer that was discovered very recently. The Monirri of my soul is gone (as I told her), it is gone from us Colombians ‘the lady actress’, a bastion of culture,” Serrato published.
He added that Margalida was a brilliant and multifaceted woman: “She was a writer, architect, flutist and deeply religious. “He worked tirelessly, not only in the arts, but also taking his faith and love for the Virgin and the Saints wherever he went.”

Margalida won three India Catalina awards throughout her career. The first was for his role in Gallito Ramírez (1986), the second for his performance in The Secretary (2011) and the third in recognition of his life dedicated to film and television.
