As the family had announced, the coffin with the remains of the former director of the Indigenous Fund, Marco Antonio Aramayo, He arrived at the Viru Viru airport at 9:30 p.m. and in a fleeting operation he was transferred to the wake room of the La Cruceña funeral home. The son and brother of the former executive said that the family forgives the people who caused the state of Aramayo.
“I would not mention any person in particular, nor would I accuse anyone, history will judge; everything my father did is duly supported, every time he got out of prison he wrote a letter and that will be known in due course,” said Marco Aramayo, the eldest son of the deceased executive.
A white plastic wrapped the coffin of the ill-fated executive and on top it was covered with a Bolivian flag. The remains are already in the wake room that is located on Buenos Aires street, Ichilo corner, one block from the first Ring. A dozen of Aramayo’s relatives came to the hall.
The family later recounted that the last time they were in Santa Cruz, Aramayo told his son that he felt bad and this one thought that it was about the height changes that occur when traveling between La Paz and Santa Cruz.
He never knew if that discomfort was communicated to the prison authorities to check his health status, taking into account that Marco Aramayo was a person diagnosed with hypertension and his life was at risk on each trip.
The brother of the deceased also testified that their father died while Aramayo was in prison in La Paz and the prison authorities did not even allow him to attend his father’s funeral. He arrived in Santa Cruz when he had already been buried.
He reported that the authorities of the Prosecutor’s Office stirred up the whole family trying to find some indication of the accusations he had and they never found anything. He also said that the family was never able to travel to La Paz to see his relative better, since he had no one close to him at the seat of government.
