The reforms proposed by the government of Gustavo Petro, in especially the tax project, have generated criticism and rejection by various sectors. Many of them consider that they could generate significant damage to the country’s economy.
That is why different groups and associations convened, to this monday september 26, marches in the main cities of the country and the world.
Next, we will tell you how the day progresses and how mobility is in Bogotá and in other capitals.
1:10 p.m.: The demonstrators arrive at the Plaza de Bolívar and mobility is recovered on Calle 26 and Carrera 7. At the time there are no road damages due to demonstrations.
12:38 p.m.: The service is enabled at the Concejo de Bogotá and Centro de Memoria stations, of TransMilenio.
12:10 p.m.: TransMilenio made an update on the status of the service:
Seventh career: step is enabled, dual service forwarding is cancelled.
26th Street: the service is temporarily suspended at the Centro Memoria and Concejo de Bogotá stations, Ciudad Universitaria is enabled. Fleet carries out a counterflow to the east on the eastern side and exits to the mixed flow to the west on the eastern side of Centro Memoria.
Environmental Axis: Fleet returns begin at La Mariposa. The service in Museo del Oro is temporarily suspended. The water station is served with the connection to Universities.
The rest of the System does not record news due to demonstrations.
11:45 a.m.: Protesters pass through the Ciudad Universitaria station, so TransMilenio announces that the contraflow will be running to the east on the eastern side and the exit to the mixed lane to the west on the eastern side of Centro Memoria. At this time, there is no service at the Centro Memoria and Concejo de Bogotá stations.
11:20 a.m.: Demonstrations take place in the following parts of the city, generating road damage in Bogotá: 26th Street Avenue with 44th Avenue, west-east direction; and Carrera 7 with Calle 32, direction south – north
10:24 a.m.: Demonstrations take place in the following parts of the city, generating road damage in Bogotá: 26th Street Avenue with 59th Avenue, west-east direction; and Carrera 7 with Calle 32, direction south – north.
10:20 a.m.: TransMilenio affirmed that the dual fleet is diverted: north-south direction. The fleet takes 40th street west and goes up 24th street connecting to the National Museum. In the south – north direction they make a detour to the bike path. Likewise, diversions are made for the zonal fleet of routes 18-3, 593, A124, C124, H907, T12, T13 and T25.
9:58 a.m.: Mobilizations begin in various points of Bogotá.
Fallen Heroes Monument: A sit-in is presented on Calle 26 (Avenida El Dorado) with Carrera 59, east-west direction. No road damage, approximate capacity of 30 people.
Heroes Monument (Caracas Avenue): a sit-in is presented on Caracas avenue with 80th street. At the hour without road damage, approximate capacity of 10 people.
National Park: sit-in is presented in race 7 with street 32. At the hour without road affectation, approximate capacity of 10 people. There is a scheduled trip through Carrera 7 to Plaza de Bolívar.
