The Shopping Centers of Río Negro, Paysandú and Salto, will carry out a march this Wednesday 21, in Paysandú, demanding government measures to cushion the impact of the crossing of Uruguayans to the neighboring country to make purchases, one of those measures is to allow micro-importation, without high tariffs, of essential products of the basic basket.
So far, according to EL ECO, the mayor of Salto, Andrés Lima, “the government has only implemented benefits for fuel, but it does not help because in the neighboring country it continues to have a downward difference of more than 25 pesos per liter ”.
If the merchants do not achieve effective measures from the government, “unemployment will continue to rise” in the coastal cities, Lima estimated.
