University workers called for a march for next February 27 throughout the country for their wage demands. After the mobilization, they will call for a 48-hour strike in the public administration and civil society to demand what they consider fair
The workers of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) affirmed that they resume their agenda of fighting for better demands with a mobilization, scheduled for Monday, February 27, throughout the country and for Tuesday the 28th, a 48-hour strike in the that call public administration workers to join for the same claim.
Eduardo Sánchez, president of the National Union of Workers of the Central University of Venezuela (Sinatraucv), told FM Center is News explained that the date of February 27 was chosen for the national mobilization – which in Caracas begins with a concentration in Plaza Venezuela to an undetermined place in the Center – because they consider that they are currently facing a “wilder” package than the one that was imposed in 1989.
He demanded that the Executive want to have the workers “passive and stagnant” by having a very poor salary of only 5.32 dollars a month, while lashing out at the authorities with the delivery of the so-called “war bond” because “it does not solve the problem problem” and therefore “we cannot lower our guard”.

For his part, Adrián Bolívar, president of the National Federation of Higher Education Workers’ Unions in Venezuela (Fenasoesv), said that from Tuesday, February 28 to Thursday, March 2, they summon all workers in the public administration and the civil society to join a work stoppage to demand the salary and labor demands they deserve.
Similarly, he urged the authorities to release the six trade unionists and activists who have been imprisoned since July 2022, since he stated that they are unjustly imprisoned for only demanding their rights.

In most of the states in Venezuela, the protests over wage demands keep the streets hot, while the ruling party blames the economic war, the sanctions and the US blockade for not being able to increase the wages of the workers.
