March against speciesism will walk through the streets of Mexico City

Mexico City. On Saturday, November 15, the streets of the capital will be filled with drums, banners and messages in favor of animal liberation.

Activists, anti-speciesist groups and defenders of animal rights call for the March against Speciesism 2025, a mobilization that will start from the Angel of Independence towards the capital’s Zócalo, with the purpose of making visible the victims of discrimination by species and promoting a social reflection on the relationship of domination that humans exercise over other animals.

Speciesism, a concept increasingly present in ethical and environmental debates, refers to the idea that the human species has a superior value and, therefore, the right to use, exploit or deprive other animals of life for their benefit. From the food industry and scientific experimentation, to entertainment and fashion, millions of animals are victims of normalized practices that, according to activists, must be questioned at their roots.

A march for animal liberation and awareness

During the day, the participation of different groups is expected, batucadas, artistic interventions and graphic expressions that will seek to raise awareness about the structural violence that is exercised against non-human animals and the environmental impact of these practices. The tour, which will begin at 12:00 noon, symbolizes a march for respect for all sentient beings and animal liberation.

The organization of the march is carried out in a self-managed and horizontal manner. For this reason, activists call for voluntary collaboration in different areas: poster placement, batucada, printing and screen printing, photography, video editing, dissemination and press support, fundraising and solidarity raffles.

For more information or to join as a volunteer, interested parties can consult the social networks of the organizing groups.

Beyond the protest, a call for change

The March against Speciesism not only seeks to denounce violence against animals, but also to promote a profound cultural change that questions consumer habits and economic structures that depend on animal exploitation.

With this march, activists seek to inspire empathy, dialogue and action. Beyond a protest, the event is presented as an invitation to rethink the link between humans and the other species that inhabit the planet.
