It should be remembered that in February 2023, when he was still head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ebrard visited Los Angeles, California, to meet with directors of various film studios in Hollywood.
On that occasion, at the Netflix headquarters, and as part of an investment convoy organized by the SRE, a meeting took place in which the then Chancellor Ebrard, 50 mayors from 22 entities of the Republic, and the 17 secretaries of state economic development with directors of the six main film studios in Hollywood: Disney, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, Universal and Warner Brothers, as well as with the group that brings them together, the Motion Pictures Association.
After this meeting held at the beginning of last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it was agreed to form a working group with the objective of expanding the film industry in Mexico and promote investments in the sector.
