Luis José Marcano, member of the national board of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and liaison for Anzoátegui state, reported that more than 400,000 people have participated in the process of renewing the base structures of that political organization.
Accompanied by the state political team, including the presence of Mercedes Sánchez, an organizer in the state, and José Cabello, a member of the PSUV’s national youth directorate, in addition to the political advisory council, he offered details about the process being carried out the ruling party “to deepen the mechanisms for the exercise of democracy”.
“It is a process of expression and mobilization of the people, which demonstrates the will of the majority to continue accompanying the Bolivarian revolution and the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez,” said Marcano.
The regional leader explained that the process last Saturday was carried out in 16 thousand 69 streets of some 2 thousand 277 communities of the 21 municipalities, for the selection of their leaders.
He specified that more than 300,000 people participated in this phase, a figure he described as “extraordinary.”
The also state governor explained that on Saturday 45% of street bosses were ratified, some 6,543 people, another 7,901 were appointed for the first time, that is, 54.7%.
Marcano said that in the selection of community leaders, 39.4% of those leaders were ratified and the rest, 67.7%, are new community leaders, “which demonstrates the capacity of our party” to strengthen its structures.
Everything ready to elect the heads of the UBCh
Luis Marcano announced the selection stage for 646 heads of the Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCh) for next Saturday, September 3.
In this regard, the leader pointed out that the details for this process were known in a work meeting of the party structure.
“Later, the renewal of what is the middle management will come, made up of parish and municipal directors and the state political team,” he added.
He stressed that it has been a process marked by the maturity of the militancy that has been carried out in absolute peace.
Renewal of bases in the same conventional voting centers
This Thursday, a work meeting was held for the planning of the third phase of the internal process of the PSUV, where members of the regional team, Jpsuv liaisons and delegates participated, reported the organizer of the red party in Anzoátegui, Mercedes Sánchez.
To date, three consecutive events have been held in recent weeks, where the people have nominated and elected the leaders of the popular entities that make up the red awning, but this Saturday the heads of the UBCh are elected.
The information on the development of this process indicates that it will be carried out in the electoral center that corresponds to the operation of its territorial scope.
The leadership applications will be made between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm, at least 10 candidates must be applied to guarantee the formation of the team of these instances.
Sánchez stressed that the voting will take place from 1:00 to 6:00 pm and in each center the same voting tables will be established as in the conventional electoral processes.
To be elected, the candidate must be a resident of one of the dot and circle communities and voter of that UBCh, Venezuelan, voter of the unit and not have been sentenced for any criminal offense, nor disqualified by the Comptroller General of the Republic.
