Manzur: "The national government works committed to federal development"

The chief of staff, Juan Manzur, assured this Friday in Salta that the National Government is working “committedly for federal development” to reduce asymmetries, when participating in the ninth assembly of the Regional Council of the Great North, which is held with the presence of governors of ten provinces of the NOA and the NEA.

“From the national government we work committed to federal development. That is why we join our effort to reduce asymmetries with the most neglected provinces and promote their productive development,” Manzur said on his official Twitter social network account.

The national official thanked the governor of Salta, Gustavo Sáenz, for “the warm reception” he gave as host of the event and stressed that “dialogue is essential for the integration of the NOA and NEA”, for which he celebrated “this great meeting of the Big North in Salta”.

Ten governors participate in the meeting, the chief of staff, Juan Manzur; the Minister of Social Development, Juan Zabaleta; the Secretary of Provinces, Silvina Batakis; and the Secretary of Energy, Darío Martínez, among other national officials.

This Friday morning, the governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, assured the Salta press that a presentation of a “model for the execution of a program for the provision of solar energy” will be made from the Secretary of Energy of the Nation.

Capitanich explained that “the granting of a quota of one thousand megawatts of solar energy for the provinces of the Greater North of Argentina” was requested and added that in this framework the details of “a system for replacing energy with diesel, to replace it with solar energy”.

“For us, this is very important, because the Great North of Argentina is very competitive in terms of solar energy. We have multiple planned investments,” explained the Chaco president.

In this sense, he argued that during the meeting they will work on “a diesel supply plan”because “we are in a process of guaranteeing supply for public transport, cargo and for planting and harvesting different crops.”

“The third topic is a summary of the trip to Dubai, in which five of the ten governors have participated,” he explained and said that “in this context we have proposed the creation of an investment and foreign trade agency, with the aim of guaranteeing a headquarters in Dubai to supply the international market with products from the region”.

Capitanich revealed that the realization of the Expo Grande will also be analyzed “in each of the Argentine provinces that make up the Norte Grande” and work will be done on issues of public safety and legislative initiatives for industrial development, among other issues.

The governors of Salta, Gustavo Sáenz; from Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora, who is also the pro-tempore president of the Norte Grande; from Missions, Oscar Herrera Ahuad; from Catamarca, Raúl Jalil; from Corrientes, Gustavo Valdes; from Jujuy, Gerardo Morales; from La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela; and from Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo; Together with Capitanich and the lieutenant governor of Formosa, Eber Wilson, they took the institutional photo of the meeting, at the monument to General Martín Miguel de Güemes.

Then, they went to the Sheraton Hotel, in the capital of Salta, where the debates were held.

The agenda for the day includes nine points:
• Sanction of the Norte Grande Regional Integration Treaty
• Creation of the Norte Grande Investment and Foreign Trade Agency together with the Federal Investment Council (CFI).
• The issue of fuel and gas quotas
• Promotion of the investment guarantee law
• Medical cannabis
• Buy Argentine
• Electromobility
• Solar energy
• Automotive and Agrobioindustrial Promotion

In his welcome message to the meeting participants, Governor Sáenz assured: “We are proud to be able to count on you to start working with this agenda that we started two years ago trying to balance, to equalize the asymmetries of many years that exist between the center of the country and the north of Argentina”.

“It is not an easy task to solve the historical problems of forgetting and looking to other places. For this reason, I am pleased that we can continue working together with a common goal, regardless of where we come from, without partisan distinction,” said Sáenz, adding that “for change some realities we have to be together”.
