The governor of the State Zulia, Manuel Rosales, defended on Thursday the participation in the May 25 elections by several parties of the unitary platform, including his party a new time.
“Abstention, violence I do not share it and I will not take those roads,” Rosales said in a news conference With regional media, where he ratified his candidacy for re -election.
He said that the vote “is the mechanism that will sooner or later achieve changes in Venezuela”, but from the ruling and “radical groups” it has been “disappearing.”
He also criticized the use of economic sanctions that, he said, together with abstention or violence “have never been effective as struggle methods or to cause political changes. On the contrary, they represent the most repudiable punishment »for society.

The Zulian governor insisted that “the fight is complicated and difficult throughout Venezuela, but we cannot put ourselves aside (…) the vote is the only right we have, to express ourselves, to comment and claim and we cannot put it aside.”
