Manizales reinforces controls and prohibits motorcyclist caravans on Halloween

The Mayor’s Office and the Police of Manizales implement operations and sanctions to avoid disorders and protect security on Halloween.

The Manizales Mobility Secretariat and the National Police are carrying out stricter controls and more severe penalties for motorcyclists who are caught participating in the so-called ‘terror rides’ during the Halloween celebration.

This decision seeks to avoid acts of disruption to public order associated with excessive speed, obstruction of roads and overcrowding on motorcycles or private vehicles.

The Secretary of Mobility of Manizales, Juan Felipe Álvarez Castro, explained that the measures are strictly preventive in nature.

“We want this October 31 to be lived with joy, but with responsibility. Vehicles or caravans will not be authorized, because The most important thing is to take care of life. We invite parents to always be close to their children and drivers to not mix the steering wheel with alcohol. Security is everyone’s job.”

During the days The presence of authorities will be reinforced in commercial, banking and recreational areas to prevent crimes such as theft and guarantee public order. Awareness campaigns will also be carried out so that parents keep children accompanied, avoid costumes that limit visibility and promote the use of reflective elements when traveling on public roads.

The authorities recommend that citizens use public transport or authorized taxis and refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol.
