Manerra celebrates these 8 nominations in the middle of his “Butter and Coffee Tour” that began in Santo Domingo, then Puerto Plata, both to a full house. The next stop is in the city of Santiago on October 8 at Theatron where he will perform with his entire band. It will then arrive at La Romana on Saturday the 15th and at Hard Rock Café Punta Cana on October 22nd.
In this edition, Maestro Juan Luis Guerra and Manerra are the most nominated, each with 8 nominations. ¨Sharing these nominations with my dear Master, Don Juan Luis, is surreal. Just being nominated alongside him is a super award! It is a blessing for me. I remember the first time I heard his music on a daddy’s LP, it was precisely the song ¨Si tu te vas¨ that began with some bird effects, and as a child that finally captivated me, it activated my imagination and creativity.
He taught me to dream with songs, to draw through lyrics and melodies, he is my teacher, I love and admire him. I always say it, in 2017 I covered one of his songs when I didn’t even dream of publishing my music and the instrument that God used to motivate me to record was nothing and nothing less than Don Juan, I will never get tired of thanking that gesture that changed my life
