Mandala Trumpet launches model inspired by Alexander Abreu

The first trumpet model inspired by the popular musician Alexander Abreu Manresa (1976) was presented by the Mandala Trumpet brand. The instrument is expected to be well received in the market thanks to the reputation of the maker and the popularity of the artist.

He model features a 6-inch bell, professional ML leadpipe, and lead pipe one-piece with built-in mouthpiece size 1.5 standard cup (C). It is designed to produce a powerful and clear sound, with excellent projection and great playability.

The leader of the Havana D’Primera orchestra expressed his excitement for the launch and the news has been received with jubilation by various artists on and off the island.

The Mandala trumpet brand was founded by businessman Julio Otaegui and has revolutionized the world of professional trumpets. Its models include: Orion, Drago 5 stars, Maitreya Custom, Angel, Pléyades 7 stars, Fran Rivero in C, Marcano Lead and Apocalipsis.

The Mandala trumpets stand out for their careful aesthetics, their refined design, the materials used and the general construction of the instrument, which make them the perfect trumpets for those musicians looking for a powerful sound.

Graduated from the National School of Art in the mid-’90s, Alexander Abreu is today considered one of the most important musicians on the contemporary sound scene in Cuba. He was a professor of jazz and Cuban music at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory from Copenhagen and was part of the Irakere group.

During his career he has collaborated with renowned figures such as Chucho Valdés, Chick Corea, Hugh Ramopolo Masekela and James Morrison Catchpole.

In 2007 Abreu created his own musical group, with which he has recorded several albums, including the album It will be over (Abdala/ Páfata Productions), Cubadisco Grand Prize (2022). The album contains several hits of Cuban popular music from the 80s and 90s of the last century such as “El baile del buey cansao” (Juan Formell) and “Échale Limón” (José Luis Cortés).
