Cristiano Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United a few weeks ago and piecework is done in the Old Trafford offices to sign a replacement as soon as possible.

So much so, that the call to fill the gap left by the Portuguese would already be tied up in the short term. This is Cody Gakpo, a 23-year-old attacker, belonging to PSV, which recently shone at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

According to The Mirror, the Mancunian team would already have a pre-agreement with the footballer and, therefore, it would only be missing to reach a full understanding with PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch team knows that it will be very difficult to retain Gakpo, although at the same time he wants to get about 50 million euros. At the moment, United’s offer does not reach that amount, but it is not ruled out that this happens to finalize the signing as soon as possible.

Beyond his good performance during the World Cup, scoring three goals with Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands, Gakpo had already been starring in a more than notorious season with the PSV shirt: nine goals in 14 Eredivisie games and three in five in the Europa League are well worth talking about his good moment. /MD
