The so-called morning merchants assure that they will go out to sell regularly this Wednesday, despite the warning issued by the neighbors, to set up a vigil to prevent their settlement.

Juan Carlos Nina, representative of the residents of Villa Primero de Mayo (Municipal District 7), District 6 (Pampa de la Isla) and 3 (Estación Argentina), reported that the vigil will be installed from midnight to avoid that vendors settle on its sidewalks, streets and avenues surrounding the Barrio Lindo fair.

The morning attendants from 03:00 to 09:00 am from the ridge of the fourth ring and Barrio Lindo fairsurrounding streets that include Cumavi avenue.

Nina affirmed that various letters were sent to the municipal Executive to take action on the matter, demanding that public space be respected. However, they did not receive an effective response.

What’s more, the neighbors learned about the request for a Christmas fair that the merchants plan to install, from December 10 to January 5. “If on a regular fair day the vehicular traffic is chaotic, I don’t want to imagine myself at a Christmas fair,” said Nina.

At 9:00 p.m., the vigil already had more than a dozen residents in the fourth ring and Cumavi avenue, from where they stated that they only seek to enforce the regulations and public spaces of the city.

This man (René Troncoso) is profiting from public spaces, he has been doing it for years and we are already tired“, assured Nina, who lives in the El Provenir neighborhood, Cumavi avenue area.

For his part, René Troncoso assured that those who are demanding that the morning workers not settle are not residents of the area. “It’s people from other places, we know the locals“, he assured, in time to announce that the merchants are ready to serve from dawn.

“We do not want violence, we must dialogue. It is the municipality that manages the information about the settlements and the markets. The neighbors themselves can help us consolidate a project to retire from the avenue, but it is through dialogue, not with violence,” Troncoso advanced, in time to reveal that there is even a piece of land available.

But for it “We need the real actors, those involved in the case, not residents of Cotoca, Pampa de la Isla, etc.c.”, he asserted.

Troncoso hopes that it will be the competent authority, such as the municipality, the Police, and even the neighbors themselves, who will provide a solution to this situation. However, he does not rule out that in the face of any provocation, there may be a response from the trade unionists.
