This is the case of Tierra Futuro, a small real estate company that achieved its Great Place To Work certification. Cristina Paz, the general manager of the SME, explains that ‘trust’ is very important when it comes to building a good work environment.
“The challenge was to get to know each other first and for this we developed a dynamic with the support of the Organic company. Once a month, during working hours, we had to go to a space and participate in workshops, dissertations and introspection activities that helped us all”, indicated the leader.
However, the work did not stop there. They managed to transfer the experiences to their workplace. “The excuses are over, before there were staff who found a way to explain their poor results, but then they took charge and understood that it is ‘their business’ and therefore what they achieve will benefit them,” said Paz.
The executive affirms that there are few people who are working on Tierra Futuro, but each one has an external team that supports them to carry out the tasks entrusted to them.
Paz says that she worked for many years in a multinational company and knows the culture that is applied in those companies.
“We work with a program that allows the same worker to carry out other tasks. This means that when people are absent due to family commitments or vacations, they are not bothered because there is a person performing their duties, ”he said.
Another positive aspect was that the workers have time for themselves. The firm grants four hours of furlough per month. In the year they add up to six working days so that they can use that time in what they consider convenient.
In addition, everyone has the opportunity to earn $20 for each book read and exposed to all company personnel.
And what was the impact of being GPTW? “People who are focused and committed to results and developing skills to fill other positions,” she added. GPTW prepares the SME ranking that will be published in the coming months.
