Managed assets of mutual funds grew more than 46% during 2024

“2024 has been a more than positive year for the manufacturing industry. mutual funds. Not only was there significant growth at the level of participants, which reached 417,425 investors, which represents a growth of 20.07% in the last year; but, in managed assets, the sector showed a growth of 46.50% compared to the year 2023, reaching S/ 48,221 million soles at the end of 2024,” said Fernando Osorio, general secretary of the Association of Fund Administrators of Peru. (FMP).

Osorio specified that at the end of 2024, there have been 20 consecutive months of sustained growth in our industry, consolidating it as one of the most profitable alternatives to maximize investors’ capital.

He explained that the good performance of the sector during 2024 was due to the efficient management of the managed portfolios, as well as the current economic growth and the reduction in inflation worldwide, which generated greater confidence in investors.

Results by funds

Mutual funds in dollars were the ones that performed the most on average during 2024. Those expressed in dollars reached an average of 10.5% per year, while those expressed in national currency reached 8.13%.

However, the mutual fund that obtained the most profitability during 2024 was Credicorp Capital (Acciones Innovación), which reached 29.22% in dollars. While the second most profitable mutual fund was the Fondo de Fondos Sura Acciones Norteamericanas FMIV, which reached 22.51% in dollars.

At the level of market share according to managed assets, we can point out that Credicorp Capital has the largest market share with 32.43%, followed by BBVA Asset Management with 20.27%, Scotia Fondos with 18.68%, Interfondos with 16.42%, Fondos Sura with 9.93% and the rest of the SAFMs in the industry with 2.27%.

At the end of December 2024, 231 Mutual Funds were registered, managed by the 17 Mutual Fund Management Companies (SAFM) authorized and supervised by the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SMV).

You can invest from 20 soles

Osorio explained that mutual funds are characterized by their flexibility in the investment amounts and the opportunities in which these investments can be made. He said that there are mutual funds that allow investments from 20 Soles or 5 dollars.

“Mutual funds also offer higher returns compared to traditional alternatives such as savings accounts or time deposits,” he said.

Also, he specified that there is professional management by experts who choose the best investment opportunities and the money can be accessed at any time easily and quickly. Banks, financial institutions, stockbrokers and others authorized by the SMV are entities authorized to sell shares of Mutual Funds.

The FMP is made up of BBVA ASSET MANAGMENT SAF, CREDICORP CAPITAL SAF, FONDOS SURA SAF, INTERFONDOS, and SCOTIA FONDOS.
