SANTO DOMINGO.– A man who was actively wanted for his alleged connection with the drug money laundering network dismantled last week during an extensive operation carried out by the Public Ministry and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) was handed over to the authorities.
It is about José Francisco Sabino Castillowho appeared this Monday at the headquarters of the National Police. An arrest warrant was immediately executed against him, and he will be brought before the courts in the next few hours for coercive measures.

17 arrested in the operation
With their delivery, they rise to 17 arrested related to this criminal structure.
During last Thursday’s operation the following were arrested:

- Leandro Manuel Arias Santana (Berni)
- Cleudi Zapata
- Manuel Almancio Moreno de los Santos
- Fernando de Jesus Ventura Segura
- Jonathan Ditren (The Witcher)
- Mauricio Joshua Castillo
- José Alberto López Alcántara (Bururun)

Public Ministry requests preventive detention
The Public Ministry asked the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santo Domingo Este to impose 18 months of preventive detention as a measure of coercion and declare the case as complex processing.
The hearing was adjourned to November 29at the request of the defenses, who asked for more time to study the file.
Operation extends to ports and eastern areas
Among the accused are employees or contractors of the Caucedo Multimodal Portwho allegedly used their access to the terminal to facilitate illicit activities.
The operation is the result of months of researchdeveloped with support from the DEA and other intelligence agencies.
During the work, a stash of 200 packages of cocaine on November 7th.
In total, they carried out 36 raidswith the participation of 40 prosecutors and 312 DNCD agentsin sectors of the National District, Santo Domingo (including Boca Chica) and San Pedro de Macorís.
