SANTO DOMINGO.- A man wounded his romantic partner with a gunshot during an event that occurred in the early morning of January 19, 2026, in the Amada residential complex, in La Vega.
The victim was identified as Arleni Morelia Jiménez Cayetano, 28 years old, who was injured by a firearm projectile and is receiving medical attention at a health center, where she remains under observation.
While the aggressor is José Alfredo Caspois de la Rosa, who after committing the act fled.
According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred after an argument of a passionate nature, allegedly motivated by jealousy.
Members of the Regional Criminal Investigation Subdirectorate (DICRIM), together with technicians from the Scientific Police, carried out the corresponding survey at the scene and continue with the investigations, as well as with the work of locating the aggressor, to put him at the disposal of the Public Ministry, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
