Given the body of evidence presented by the Public Ministry, José Alberto Vergara Bautista (62) was sentenced to 5 years and four months in prison for the sexual abuse of his 3-year-old grandson, an event that occurred on May 15, 2024 in the 1st of December neighborhood of the Ramón Ignacio Méndez parish in the state of Barinas, according to a press release from the institution.
That day, the victim told her father that while she was under the care of her maternal grandparents, Vergara Bautista touched her parts and yelled expletives at her.
Given this confession, the parent immediately went to municipal police officials to report the incident, which is why a commission was formed that arrested the aggressor in his residence and placed him under the command of the Public Ministry.
At the trial, the Prosecutor’s Office 9to of that jurisdiction ratified the accusation against the man currently convicted of the crime of sexual abuse of a child without penetration.
Once the evidence presented by the prosecutors in the case had been evaluated, the 4th Trial Court of Barinas issued the aforementioned sentence against Vergara Bautista, who remains detained at the municipal police headquarters.
Four Polibaruta are deprived of liberty for demanding money from a man in Miranda
At the request of the Public Ministry, Baruta Municipal Police officials Rafael Eduardo Salcedo Rosendo (33), Jeison Eduardo Hernández Guzmán (32), Junior Alfonso Nieto Gil (25) and Ángel Manuel Tovar Perozo (24) were deprived of liberty for allegedly demanding 3 thousand US dollars from a man. so as not to be prosecuted.
Such a situation occurred on January 28 in the San Rafael sector of the Baruta municipality of Miranda state.
In the afternoon of the aforementioned day, Chief Officer Hernández Guzmán, along with First Officers Salcedo Rosendo, Nieto Gil and Tovar Perozo, were carrying out a procedure when they arrested a man for being involved in a robbery.
In this sense, the officers demanded the aforementioned amount to let him go. However, the victim could only give them 500 US dollars, so the Polibarutas simulated an escape, in which the chief officer fired two shots into the air.
After what happened, the man went to the Police Deviations Investigation office of said security body to notify the irregularity, which is why the four officers were immediately apprehended at the scene and placed under the command of the Public Ministry.
At the presentation hearing, representatives of the 76th Prosecutor’s Office of the Caracas Metropolitan Area (AMC) charged Salcedo Rosendo, Nieto Gil and Tovar Perozo with the crimes of delay or intentional omission of functions in the aggravated modality, favoring evasion, aggregation and improper use of an organic weapon.
While Hernández Guzmán was charged with the aforementioned criminal offenses and discharge of a firearm in a residential area.
