Santiago – The judges of the Second Collegiate Court of this demarcation sentenced to 30 years in prison a man who killed another with a lunge, after the victim left the Court of Boys, Girls and Adolescents in the Los Pepines sector in Santiago.
The conviction achieved based on the elements of evidence that the investigative prosecutors of the Public Ministry collected, weighs against Edward Camacho Camacho, who located, persecuted and then attacked the victim, Junior Andrés Rosario Arias, with a Sevillian-type knife.
The litigating prosecutor Luisa García, stated before the court that Camacho premeditated, persecuted and intercepted the victim, whom he then attacked with a knife, aware of the consequences that this could entail, in conduct that the Dominican Penal Code describes as murder.
The ruling, issued by judges Osvaldo Castillo, Luis Ernesto Torres and Deyanira Méndez, also establishes that Camacho must pay compensation of 4 million pesos in favor of the victim’s mourners.
The irrefutable elements that proved the criminal responsibility of the murderer, collected in the course of the investigation coordinated by the investigating prosecutor Ángela Ruiz, included the forensic expert report carried out on the clothing worn by the accused on the day of the event, and which revealed the presence of blood.
The events occurred on June 16, 2020 when the victim left the court for Children and Adolescents, after appearing to maintain custody of the son he fathered with the now partner of his murderer.
The woman, together with the convicted person, sought to have custody of the minor returned to her, but in court a record of disagreement was drawn up.
