Man sentenced to 20 years for killing his ex-wife

Condenan a 20 años a un hombre que mató a su exmujer

LA ROMANA.- A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison when he was found guilty of killing his ex-partner in April 2019, according to the file carried out by the Public Ministry.

Judges Máximo Agustín Reyes Vanderhorst, Idenisse Catedral Ozuna and Jossephang Bernhardt Nivar, of the Collegiate Court of La Romana, handed down the sentence against Rafael Báez for causing the death of his ex-partner, Wanda Francisca Espinal Guerrero, after hitting him with a pick on the head.

Báez took Espinal Guerrero’s life on April 1, 2019, in the middle of an argument, while they were in the victimizer’s residence.

Previously, relatives of the woman reported her disappearance.

After committing the crime, the defendant threw the body in the mangroves of the Salado River, where he led the authorities after his arrest on April 9, 2019.
