The 2nd Court of Control, Hearings and Measures on Violence Against Women of Aragua handed down a sentence of 17 years, eight months and 20 days in prison against David Ramón Ruiz (47) for exercising physical and sexual violence against his sister, María Carolina Ruiz de Prieto (50), the Public Ministry reported in a bulletin.
Such a sentence was decreed once the man admitted his participation in the incident and thus avoided trial.
The event occurred on August 28 in the victim’s home, located in the El Socorro sector, San Casimiro municipality, Aragua.
During that day, Ruiz went to the victim’s home to ask her to let him stay at her house. Once inside the building, he entered his sister’s room, threatened to kill her with a knife and physically attacked her.
The lady tried to defend herself and began a struggle in which she was hit in the head. Once on the ground, the subject sexually abused her and then fled, the Public Ministry’s account says. mon
