A passenger on flight LAN1277 -with a route from Iquique, from the Diego Aracena Airport to Santiago- assured the crew on Monday afternoon that he was carrying a bomb. However, the alarm turned out to be false and Carabineros personnel detained the subject.
As indicated by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), before the bomb warning, they activated the respective emergency protocols. In that sense, the passengers of the plane were disembarked.
In turn, the DGAC indicated that the plane was transferred to a security area so that the Carabineros Special Police Operations Group (GOPE) could review it.
The GOPE determined that it was a false alarm and police personnel detained the subject.
