Man involved in incident in which a woman was shot was surrendered

Barahona.- A man implicated in the incident that occurred yesterday Sunday in a sector of this city, in which a woman was shot, was arrested after turning himself in to the police authorities on Monday.

In a press release, the Southern Regional Police Department identifies the detainee as José Altagracia Mateo Gómez, 26 years old.

Mateo Gómez turned himself in after the calls made to him by the uniformed officer in this regard, through the different local media.

He is being accused of participating in the incident that occurred at about 8:00 p.m. yesterday Sunday in the Casandra sector where Mrs. Crisleidy Carrasco Acosta, 23, was shot.

The woman is admitted to the local health center, where it was said that she has gunshot wounds in the right and left pelvic region, with entry and exit.

In relation to this case, a certain Maikel is wanted, whom the National Police urges to turn himself in by the means he deems appropriate.

According to the uniformed, the event occurred in the middle of a discussion, which, according to investigations, is linked to a family conflict, due to alleged passion issues.

Mateo Gómez was placed under the control of the Public Ministry for the purposes of submission to justice.
