The authorities reported this Wednesday about the arrest of Alejandro José Sarita Peraltawanted for his alleged connection with a shipment of 1,360 packages of cocaineoccupied on the coasts of the province of San Pedro de Macorís during an operation carried out in June 2025.
Sarita Peralta was arrested in it Las Americas International Airport (AILA) through court order number AJ0037712, when he was trying to leave the country on a commercial flight bound for New York, United States.
Members of the Public Ministry next to the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and with the support of Specialized Airport Security Corps (Cesac) and Immigration inspectors.
- Through a press release, the prosecuting body indicated that Sarita Peralta will be presented before the Permanent Attention Court of San Pedro de Macorís to hear a measure of coercion in the next few hours for alleged violation of the Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances.
Likewise, authorities reported that the search continues to locate others involved in a shipment, occupied on June 10 in the middle of a shootout.

In June of this year 2025, the DNCD occupied, next to the Navy and the Air Force, a shipment of 1,360 packages of cocaine (more than 1.3 tons), during a joint and combined operation, off the coast of the province of San Pedro de Macorís.
A boatwith three outboard motors, 46 bags with the drug packages, three bales of marijuana, fuel tanks, two SUVs and a truck, a rifle charger caliber 5.56, among other evidence.
