Man charged with physically attacking and threatening to kill his wife in Amazonas

A 22-year-old man was imported for allegedly physically assault and threaten to kill his wife in the state of Amazonas.

The Public Ministry indicated that the incident occurred during the early hours of January 18 in the town of La Sabanita in the Platallinal parish, in the Atures municipality.

The incident occurred when the victim was sleeping in his room and Kevin Leonardo Benega Matta He entered to hit her and threaten her with a knife.

After the attack, the woman went to the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Police to file a complaint.

Police officers went to the house and proceeded to arrest the alleged aggressor, who was placed under the orders of the Public Ministry.

During the presentation hearing, prosecutors from the Flagrancy Chamber charged Benega Matta with the crimes of aggravated physical violence and aggravated threat, provided for in the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence.

After evaluating the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office, the Second Court of Control of the state of Amazonas agreed to precautionary measures. Among them the periodic presentation every 15 days.
