This Thursday the prosecutor for Sexual Crimes and Domestic Violence of the 1st Shift, Alicia Ghione, charged the 44-year-old man detained in the framework of the investigation for human trafficking who is behind the disappearance of five women.
Before Justice, the prosecutor requested that the subject be prosecuted for crimes of carrying and possession of firearms, possession of narcotic substances and reception. Likewise, a precautionary measure of preventive detention was ordered for 120 days while the case progresses.
As Diario La R learned, although there is no charge for any crime related to the main cause, the investigation continues. In this sense, it cannot be ruled out that he will later be accused of other crimes.
The case
This Wednesday the Police carried out an operation that originated after a woman was reported absent since February 2020.
The intervention on the Delta del Tigre property was carried out in coordination with the prosecutor for sexual crimes, Alicia Ghione. The raid occurred after Interpol’s Missing Persons Department collected information on the case.
After excavating the site with the help of a backhoe facilitated by the San José Municipality, the agents found bones. These bone pieces were referred to the Foresene Technical Institute (ITF) to determine whether or not they are human.
«This is an investigation of several absent young women, five in total. We found bones, but we have to analyze them to see what it is, “said the prosecutor at a press conference.
During the police intervention, the agents arrested this man, who has six criminal records, several of them linked to drug trafficking. Likewise, officials seized large quantities of drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and base paste; they also seized a total of three firearms.
