Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) during patrol work, arrested a citizen from whom they seized 40 packages of marijuana and 37 packages of crack.
The seizure was made at the command of zone number 62 of detachment 621 of Ciudad Bolívar, in the state of Bolívar.
The information was released by the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, Domingo Hernández Lárez, who stated that this is part of the frontal fight against drug trafficking and micro-trafficking and that said procedure was notified to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
“Venezuela is neither a producer nor a consumer of drugs, these are not national customs,” he added.
Coup in Zulia
In another procedure, within the framework of the operation “Relámpago del Catatumbo 2024”, FANB officers arrested four citizens in the Chino Julio neighborhood, located in the Idelfonso Vásquez parish of the Maracaibo municipality, in the state of Zulia.
They were identified as Yida Iguarán, Liseth González Iguarán (undocumented), Junior Silva Fernández and Eudo José González Iguarán (undocumented).
The detainees were seized with a package of marijuana and thirty-five packages of cocaine.
“The citizens are accused by the community of belonging to a network dedicated to the purchase, sale and distribution of narcotic substances,” said Hernández Lárez.
The procedure, which was carried out in compliance with the required formalities, was notified to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
