Officials from the Barcelona Municipal Delegation of the Cicpc arrested Andrés Eloy Jiménez Sánchez (20), at the facilities of the José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport in Barcelona, for theft of strategic material.
According to the director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistic Investigation Corps, Douglas Rico, the young man entered the air terminal facilities in order to steal electrical conductors from the runway area, with the purpose of marketing them and profiting illicitly.
In another procedure in Anaco, five men were arrested for theft of wiring belonging to the mobile telephone company Movistar in the entity.
The men were identified as: Carlos Alberto Rojas Pérez (36), nicknamed “Chicho”, Rolando José Leal Hurtado (45), nicknamed “La Raja”, José Rafael Hernández Moreno (49), Oscar Josué Maita Pérez (23), and Adrián José Páez Farías (20), who together with Moisés José Hurtado Estanga (31), still to be arrested, entered the Movistar antenna facilities and, by cutting the wiring, They seized the material to extract the copper and market it, in order to obtain illicit profits.
In the operation, the authorities seized a motorcycle-type vehicle, a transporter and remains of wiring belonging to the victim company, the Cicpc detailed on its social networks.
Both cases were left to the Public Ministry for investigations and judicial processes corresponding to the laws.
