There are at least four observed contracts signed by the Government of Potosí with Estefals Logistics, for the acquisition of vehicles. Governor Jhonny Mamani announced legal action against the firm and changes of officials so that this type of “administrative error” does not occur.
The authority ordered, “within the framework of repairing the damage caused” to the Government of Potosí, the resolution of the contract, the execution of guarantee tickets and the initiation of legal actions against the company.
Mamani also announced changes in public servants, although he stressed that he was not committing a white massacre. “There are going to be changes, no one can deny that. Above all, we are going to improve the instances so that these administrative errors cannot occur, ”she said.
The contract for the purchase of the 41 ambulances was signed on November 26, 2021 for an amount of 20.5 million bolivianos. The second contract was signed on December 13, 2021 for the acquisition of two vehicles for the “strengthening” of the “citizen security instances for the Felcv”, for 689,040 bolivianos.
The third contract was signed on December 22, 2021 for the “acquisition of vehicles” for the “strengthening” of the citizen security instances for the police command, for 1.3 million Bolivians.
The fourth contract was signed on December 24, 2021 for the acquisition of a van for the office of the Government, for an amount of 661,130 bolivianos. According to the Government, that vehicle, like the ambulances, was not delivered by the supplying firm.
The departmental assemblywoman Azucena Fuertes questioned that the one-person company Estefals Logistics has benefited from four contracts when there are doubts about its formation. “According to Sicoes documentation, the Government of Potosí benefited a sole proprietorship with at least four contracts. Why does a sole proprietorship, inexperienced, benefit from four contracts?”, questioned Fuertes.
Meanwhile, Roxana Graz, leader of the Potosinista Civic Committee, extended the complaint filed against Governor Mamani in the case.
Mamani indicated that he is the most interested in these cases being clarified, and assured that in none of these processes was a single cent canceled.
