It was sung. The coalition of the government of Gustavo Petro in the Congress of the Republic united to sink the motion of censure against the Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez.

With an overwhelming majority the plenary of the House of Representatives said no to the Radical Change and Democratic Center for the official to leave her position for allegedly generating economic panic due to her statements. There were 24 yes votes and 132 no.
The defenders of the minister have insisted that in these four months of government, Vélez has complied with the program of Gustavo Petro, who was elected by the Colombians.
“They will say that 100 days is a very short time for a vote of no confidence, but in these few 100 days the Minister of Mines is generating an economic tsunami, recognized by the Minister of Finance himself.”, argued at the time the representative to the Chamber Carolina Arbeláez, promoter of the debate, but this was not enough.

Since this figure exists in the country, none has prospered. However, in recent years two ministers have been on the verge of being knocked down.
They are Guillermo Botero, former Defense Minister of Iván Duque, and Karen Abudinem, former ICT Minister also of the Duque government. Both officials resigned when they saw that the political forces in Congress were aligned against them.
