Major Mexican drug traffickers are put on trial, but in the United States

A hearing is planned against the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, Ismael “El Mayo” Zambadawho was arrested on Thursday, July 25, by US authorities; However, the alleged criminal claims that he was the victim of an ambush.

According to a document released by the legal representative of the Mexican kingpin, Frank Pérez, with the testimony of “Mayo” Zambada himself , the boss was “ambushed” during what was allegedly a meeting with Joaquín Guzmán Lópezson of “El Chapo” Guzmán and political leaders of the state of Sinaloa, including Hector Cuen –killed the day of Zambada’s arrest– and the governor Ruben Rocha.

The sentence against “El Menchito” will be until January 10, 2025 by District Judge Beryl A. Howell.

“El Nini” was “one of the main hitmen or assassins of the Sinaloa cartel and responsible for the murder, torture and kidnapping of rivals and witnesses who threatened the criminal enterprise of drug trafficking.” Close to the children of drug trafficker Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, “Nini” was arrested in November 2023 in Culiacán and, according to US justice, he also “participated in the production and sale of fentanyl for the Sinaloa cartel, including in the United States.”
