After the Judge of the Civil Family Chamber of the Superior Court of Barranquilla, Department of Atlántico, Bernardo López, will be released by order of the Fifth Municipal Criminal Court with Function of Control of Guarantees of the municipality of Cartago, Valle del Cauca, it was determined that he will continue to be linked to the process and must attend the respective hearings.
This was established after a hearing that took place on the afternoon of Thursday, October 27, 24 hours after three people were captured, among them, the magistrate, who appeared to attend the judicial request against him.
According to the official report, Bernardo López and two other people are accused of having participated in alleged sexual crimes such as abusive carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age, sexual acts with a minor under 14 years of age, demand for commercial sexual exploitation of a person under 18 years of age and pimping with a minor.

Facing the remarks, two of those captured implicated in the aforementioned crimes, were presented before a guarantee control judge to assume the process of judicialization in the municipality of Cartago.
Nevertheless, a delegate prosecutor before the Supreme Court of Justice, CSJ, was in charge of assuming the corresponding process against the magistrate, due to its jurisdiction as judicial servant.
In the middle of the hearing, it was established that the officials who participated in the capture procedure against the state official lacked powers. Thus, According to the Political Constitution of Colombia and the law, the capture of the magistrate could not be requested, ordered or materialized.

Meanwhile, it was determined that Bernardo López must sign an act of commitment to attend the subpoenas of the Attorney General’s Office, because it will continue to be linked to the investigation for the benefit of the victim’s rights.
