Santo Domingo.– The Magisterial Force Current This Saturday he held a massive and enthusiastic national assemblyin which they participated 157 of 174 coordinatorsequivalent to more than 90%coming from some 25 provinces of the countrywith the purpose of approve the statutes that will govern the organic life of this union structure of the Power of the People.
The event hall at the headquarters of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) was insufficient given the extensive assistance of teacher coordinators from 25 of the 28 provinces where the organization has structures, including demarcations such as Pedernales, Elías Piña, Bahoruco, Independencia, Barahona, Dajabón, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez and La Altagraciawhich showed the high level of organization and mobilization of the Magisterial Force.
Among the participants, the four councilorsmore than 20 members of the Central Managementas well as several municipal and municipal district presidents of the People’s Force.
The assembly was coordinated by the presidents of the ADP in the sections of El Llano, Elías Piña, Daniel Ospino Valdezand Hato Mayor, Darling Pegueroboth with four three-year terms at the head of the teachers union.
In addition, the organizing committee was formed by Secretary of Organization of the Teaching Forcethe deputy secretaries and members of the Central Directorate Norman Paredes and Fausto Estevezwho were in charge of reading the statutes. Each article was put to an individual vote, achieving approval 95% unanimous and majority in the rest.
The welcome words were given by the councilor and teacher Adhamilka Espinaldirector of the Duarte School in Santo Domingo Oeste and representative of the Teaching Force on the National Executive Committee of the ADP. Subsequently, Fausto Estevez explained that the statutes are the result of more than one year of workconsultations, meetings and plenary sessions held by four commissions.
The process was observed by Dr. Aníbal Rosario RamírezNotary Public of the National District, who certified the legality of the call, attendance and development of the agenda.
With the approval of the statutes, composed of 50 items and three transitionsthe Magisterial Force concludes its internal congress and strengthens its institutional and territorial consolidation.
One of the most relevant points was the transitional article that provides for the creation of a Electoral Commissionin charge of preparing the regulations and schedule for the democratic election of the teaching leadership.
This commission was made up of teachers:
- Faustino Cedenoprovincial coordinator in La Altagracia.
- Raúl Alandre Pulapresident of the ADP in Ramón Santana.
- Romaira Floriancoordinator in Bahoruco.
- Alfredo Lizardocoordinator in La Ciénaga.
- Gisela Monteromember of the Central Directorate of the People’s Force.
The attendees highlighted that the ADP is the main union in the country for its democratic tradition, as well as the COOPNAMAthe largest cooperative in Latin America, highlighting that all teaching representation must always be elected by the vote of its members.
