Countries such as Honduras, China, Russia, Bolivia and Cuba recognized and welcomed Nicolás Maduro’s victory at the polls this Sunday
International reactions to the announcement by the National Electoral Council (CNE) declaring President Nicolás Maduro the winner of the presidential elections were not long in coming. Among those who congratulated the head of state on his victory were his administration’s usual international allies, such as Russia and China.
“I would like to reiterate our willingness to continue our constructive work on the current bilateral and international agenda. Remember that you are always welcome on Russian soil,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin, congratulating Maduro.
Along the same lines, China congratulated Venezuela for a “successful” election and Nicolás Maduro for his re-election.
Like Russia, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian recalled that China and Venezuela are “good friends and partners who support each other.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Naser Kanani sent a message via X in which he congratulated Venezuelans and the Executive “for the successful holding of the presidential elections in this country, as well as the president-elect.”
Likewise, the President of Syria, Bashar Al Assad, sent a statement in which he extended his congratulations for the success of the electoral process in which Venezuelans exercised their right, as well as for the victory obtained by his Venezuelan counterpart in the elections.
He hopes that the relations between the two countries can continue to deepen and be expanded to meet mutual interests.

He Sao Paulo Forum He is also among those who congratulated President Maduro for the results obtained at the polls this Sunday, July 28, because it will give “continuity” to the so-called Bolivarian revolution, just as they celebrated the fact that the elections reported a high participation.

The president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro de Zelayasent greetings and congratulations to Maduro for his victory, “to the brave people of Venezuela for their unquestionable triumph.”

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and his foreign minister, Bruno Rodríguez, also wrote messages on X to welcome the CNE result that proclaimed Nicolás Maduro the winner.

Bolivian President Luis Arce said Maduro’s victory was a “great way” to remember the late Hugo Chavez, as the election coincided with his 70th birthday.
