The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated the beginning of the 2024-2025 school period throughout the national territory at the preschool, primary, secondary and higher education levels, while exposing the large percentage of public education in the country.
The national leader indicated that 84% of public education has been reached, despite the blockade and the economic adversities against the country. “We went from 40% of semi-privatized public education to 84% of free, quality public education,” he said in his program “Con Maduro +.”
“This school year, the great goal has to be to reach 100% schooling with five days of class at all levels of education and also, the quality revolution,” highlighted the head of state.
In this sense, he called for “a great transformation of Venezuelan education to update it and adapt it to the needs of the 21st century.”
He defended the push that should be given to education as the model of the citizens we want to form for the country. “Whatever you want for your family, you can only achieve it with education… the greatest thing we can do in life is educate ourselves,” said the president.
“Hope is in education, in values, in spirituality,” said the president.
