Maduro: voice of excluded peoples resounds at Los Angeles summit

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stated that the peoples excluded from the IX Summit of the Americas, which takes place in Los Angeles, United States, will make their voices heard for unity and self-determination.

«The peoples of Nicaragua, Cuba and Venezuela carry with pride, honor and much love, the flags of Sandino, Martí, Fidel, Bolívar and Chávez. Our voice will resound in Los Angeles to say: Enough is enough! The path is union and self-determination », she posted on his Twitter account.

The Summit of the Americas has been held in Los Angeles since June 6 and will conclude this Friday.

Criticism and rejection of the president of the United States, Joe Biden, have intensified for excluding Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua from the summit.

In addition to Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, which were not invited, the leaders of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, are absent; from Bolivia, Luis Arce, and from Honduras, Xiomara Castro, who condemned Washington’s exclusions from the meeting that will conclude this Friday in Los Angeles.

Argentina

Precisely on Thursday, the Argentine president, Alberto Fernandezdenounced the blockades imposed by the United States on Cuba and Venezuela and the exclusion of those nations and Nicaragua from the IX Summit of the Americas.

Fernández questioned the US policy against the region and asked to repair the damage caused.

Mexico

During his participation in the Summit of the Americas on Wednesday, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrardhighlighted the position of the Government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the exclusion of Venezuela and Nicaragua from the multilateral forum.

“We believe that it is a serious mistake and that no one has the right to exclude another. We do not accept the principle of intervention to unilaterally define who comes and who does not come, ”she added.

Refoundation of the OAS

Both countries, both Argentina and Mexico, proposed to refound the Organization of American States (OAS), which has played a shameful role in the recent coup in Bolivia, which occurred in 2019.

They assure that it must be restructured, immediately removing those who they lead.
