The president of the Republic Nicolás Maduro confirmed Monday in his program with Maduro +, which through a national source and another “of great credibility”, the information on the planning of an attack with explosives against the headquarters of the United States Embassy in Caracas in Caracas was confirmed.
The president said that this information was confirmed thanks to the work of the “Information and Intelligence System that has yielded very good results for many years”, which managed to collection and follow the track of conversations between those who planned the terrorist action.
“A national and another international source, it was followed up and coincided with the possibility that a local extremist group would place some explosives in the US embassy, which we have protected it despite the differences,” said the president, while recalling that “it does not happen with our Embassy in Washington, which was assaulted and illegally occupied.”
The president said he instructed Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, head of the peace dialogues, who will communicate on all the ways with the US embassy to make the corresponding notification.
Similarly, he indicated that the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, ordered the police to strengthen security around the US embassy, in joint work with the security personnel of the diplomatic headquarters.
The investigation continues
The president informed that in the afternoon of today, Jorge Rodríguez announced US officials, where are those responsible for the planning of this terrorist action, which would be perpetrated by sectors of the Venezuelan extreme right.
“It is a typical operation of false flag, provocation to assemble the scandal and blame the Bolivarian government, and start an escalation of confrontation in which they will not ask, but only the replacement of machine guns and missiles will be heard,” he said.
He informed that the National Government is “after the search and capture of those involved in Venezuelan territory”, and that the actions were planned by an already identified person, but did not advance to reveal their name because the investigations are ongoing. “He was endorsed and asked by a person who will already know who he is,” he said.
He ended up reflecting that before a fact like this, under the American threat on our coasts, we must ask “the classic question that every investigator must do is who benefits this crime?”.
The national president recalled that Venezuela is respectful of the Geneva agreement, as international law sends; although the same has not happened with Venezuela’s embassies in Washington.
