The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro, called on Thursday for the forces of the red awning to work to build new popular and electoral majorities.
“One of the main elements of this 2022-2030 plan has to be to build new social, popular, electoral majorities,” he said at a ceremony with the new national leadership of the PSUv and JPSUV at the Teresa Carreño Theater.
He emphasized working together with the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) and “all the vanguard leadership of the social movements in a virtuous, permanent, unitary dynamic”, in order to advance in the construction of a “new popular majority of the Bolivarian Revolution” .
“It is the first goal, great, because our political process is a process that is defined every day with popular mobilization, with the exercise of popular power, with the government of popular power,” he said.
He also urged progress in the political, cultural and ideological formation “of all our people” to “build the system that allows the transmission of values, of knowledge, the forging of elements in the collective character of the people.”
“It is a fundamental task where we have to innovate, the fate of this revolution and the revolution in Latin America and the Caribbean largely depends on that task, on whether we win the ideological, cultural battle, in the media, streets, networks, walls and hearts,” he said.
He asked to go to a renaissance of revolutionary ideas to enter a stage of profound changes from within”, with the aim of “revolutionizing everything”.
In addition to the task of building new majorities to forge the values of the “revolutionary formation,” Maduro suggested the 3R.net as a method of government as a third point.
“We have to go in a permanent renaissance, in a resurrection of values, energy, transforming capacity, to do social justice, to democratize the country, to empower the people in all its phases and ways,” he insisted.

Maduro urged the red awning to “put a magnifying glass on the existing structures in the party” and go to a process of “renewal and simplification of the base structures at all levels.”
He stressed the idea of ”changing the party from within and renewing it”, after emphasizing that there is a new society and a new era that for the PSUV “has to be one of transition towards socialism, the new society of equals, democratic, free.”

Review of Vice Presidencies
Based on the idea of changing the structure of the party, Maduro proposed “putting a magnifying glass” into the Sectoral Vice Presidencies to “see if they have fulfilled” their role or if they are “a piece of paper stuck to the wall.”
“Worth criticism. It is necessary to review and I ask the national leadership for a critical, demanding review of the Sectoral Vice Presidencies; if it is really justified that these vice-presidencies exist », he said.
In addition, he also proposed reviewing whether it is justified to continue with the Territorial Vice Presidencies of the PSUV.
Rather than a vice-presidency, the top leader of the PSUV proposed transforming them into a “link to the national leadership.”

He affirmed that the PSUV has “the best collective leadership that this revolution has ever had,” because it has combined “the best leaders and leaders” who, with great self-demand, will carry “this collective leadership of the revolution forward.”
“This leadership must work open windows with the whole society (…) of those who criticize us, who support us, who love us and do not love us,” he alleged.
