The ad hoc directive of Monómeros, appointed by the internship led by Juan Guaidó, spoke on the matter. He asserted that the registration is not yet in force and that he will present legal resources to oppose the procedure.
The government of Nicolás Maduro managed to get the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce (CCB) to accept the registration of its Monomers directive. With the decision, the CCB shows that it denied the opposition presented by the current directors of the state company to the registration of the minutes of the extraordinary Assembly of Pequiven, which is the main shareholder of the company.
According to The Herald, Iván Sánchez Hernández and Luis Molina Duque, Heifred Segovia Marrero, Eduardo Fernández Anaya, Mary Yerman Nava Olivares and Genesis Ron Solano were appointed as the new manager of Monómeros as new regular members of the board of the agro-industrial sector company.

The table of shareholders is made up of Pequiven as the majority with 86.21% of the company, followed by Fertilizadores de Oriente (4.79%), Comercializadora de Petrochemicals CA Copequim (3%), International Petrochemical Holding Limited, IPHL (3% ) and Sofilago (3%).
The act that is signed by the president and legal representative of Pequiven, Pedro Rafael Tellechea Ruiz, indicates that it revokes any act developed by the ad hoc board that was appointed by the opposition.
Monómeros has been managed by the opposition led by Juan Guaidó, whom former President Iván Duque recognized as interim president of Venezuela. The new Colombian ruler, Gustavo Petro, ignored the figure of Guaidó and even appointed Armando Benedetti as ambassador to Venezuela, an important step for the reestablishment of relations with the Maduro administration.
The recovery of Monomers could be seen coming. On August 18, Benedetti showed that the Petro administration was evaluating returning control of the company to the Venezuelan State. “On the subject of monomers: the Superintendence (of Companies), in the company of our superintendent Billy Escobar, we have managed to lift the intervention,” he said. Benedetti during the business forum «Border Agreement».
Monómeros has a US license and if the Maduro government takes control it risks being sanctioned. Regarding this, the diplomat said at the event that «To the person of the OFAC I told you yesterday (Wednesday, August 17) that you should be very careful with the decision that can be made with monomersbecause if it is in Colombia, the affected would be Colombia, with food security, the shortage of urea; and the economy of us would burst it if they thought to include it in the list Clinton“, he pointed.
The flip side of the Monomers version
The ad hoc directive ruled on this. Through a statement released on Twitter, he pointed out that this August 25, the registration of an act before the CCB was promoted with the purpose of replacing the current administrators of the company.
“However, the decisions contained therein are not final nor have they come into effect. As recognized by the CCB ‘in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Administrative Procedure and Law 962 of 2005, the administrative acts of registration become final within ten business days following the date of registration, provided that they are not subject to of resources”.
The board affirmed that it will present legal resources to oppose the registration of the aforementioned decisions, including those of reversal before the Chamber of Commerce and appeal before the Superintendence of Companies, “since such determinations and the minutes that contain them do not conform to the law.”
