“In Valencia today, in the face of this gigantic mobilization of the people of Carabobo, I have to say: They gave half a guariney to fascism, half a guariney to the extreme right!” said the candidate of the Gran Polo Patriótico (GPP), Nicolás Maduro, before a massive rally on Enrique Tejera Avenue in the industrial city.
Amid expressions of love and joy from the people of Valencia, Maduro recalled the mobilization on that same avenue in 2012 during the presidential campaign of Commander Hugo Chávez. “I said: I want to close the campaign in the same place where Chávez closed it so that the people come out in a pact of love and victory,” he commented.
“Today I want to make a pact of love with the Carabobo family. We have defended the family from fascist sanctions, from riots, from violence; we have defended the peace of Venezuela,” he added.
He also assured that no one will ever again take peace away from the people of Carabobo, or from the people of Venezuela.
Maduro stressed that the victory on Sunday, July 28, will be the victory of peace, tranquility and the right to a future for the “noble people” of Venezuela.
The revolutionary candidate commented that the Valencia mobilization is probably the largest popular political event in the history of any electoral process in Carabobo. “They broke the record!” he exalted.
Vital choices
After recounting the actions of the Fourth Republic’s governments to sell out to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and how the leaders of the opposition extremists intend to re-issue the same plan, Maduro considered Sunday’s election “vital” because that day Venezuelans will decide between “homeland or colony, peace or war, guarimba or tranquility.”
Reins of the economy
In the economic sphere, he stressed that he has the reins of the new productive economy in his hands. “I have the plan, we have recovered Venezuela with our own efforts” and “we are on the path to growth, prosperity and wealth creation,” he predicted.
Communal projects
The standard-bearer of the Bolivarian forces announced that he has already called for new elections on August 25 so that organized communities can choose new projects.
“From now on, we will hold a quarterly consultation, so that the nation’s money goes directly to the projects that you choose with the votes in your community. Socialism, true democracy!” he stressed.
Chavismo overflowed Enrique Tejera Avenue in Valencia
Since 1:00 PM, Enrique Tejera Avenue in Valencia, in the south of the city, began to overflow with supporters of the Bolivarian revolution, who with banners in hand and slogans such as “I’m going to my gallo pinto” supported Maduro’s candidacy.
At 4:00 PM, singer Omar Acedo and Robetxa Poleo, jumped on stage to liven up the gathering, which did not disperse despite the inclement rain.
Presidential candidate Nicolás Maduro arrived at the busy avenue of the Miguel Peña parish at 5:53 PM, accompanied by the first Combatant, Cilia Flores, and the governor of the entity, Rafael Lacava, among others.
“We have defended the country from riots. Sunday’s victory will be the victory of tranquility and peace,” he said.
Amidst dancing and merrymaking, the forces of Chavismo shouted to the opposition that “they will never govern Venezuela again.”
