The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, installed on Wednesday the Federal Government Council, which he convened after the elections of mayors held on July 27 in order to deepen and accelerate the projects chosen in popular consultations, as well as to achieve the integration of the new rulers in the National Plan of the 7T, aimed at promoting the development of the country.
“I have spoken with all the governors, today we will have elected mayors and mayors in the 335 municipalities, to make a plan to deepen and accelerate the projects of popular consultations and concrete action agendas of all communities,” he said on July 27 during a press conference after exercising his right to vote.
He also said that during this meeting, he will assign regional and local leaders to establish a specific plan and goals for the constitution and consolidation of six thousand communes throughout Venezuela.
Gradually, the regional leaders were arriving at the Government Palace, received at the entrance by President Maduro and the First Lady, Cilia Flores.
The Federal Government Council is the institution in charge of planning and coordinating policies and actions for the development of decentralization and transfers of national power powers, to the states and municipalities. The last meeting of this entity was held on January 28 from the Ezequiel Zamora room, of the White Palace.
