Maduro: Those sanctioned are patriots who guaranteed peace in Venezuela

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that those “supposedly sanctioned” by the US government are actually patriots who have fulfilled their duty to guarantee peace to the Venezuelan people.

“They guaranteed you, dear compatriot, the peace that you enjoy today. So applause for the decorated by North American imperialism“, expressed the head of state this Thursday during a broadcast of the podcast “Maduro Live De Repente.”

In conversation with ministers of the Office of the Presidency and Communications, Aníbal Coronado and Freddy Ñáñez, respectively, the first national leader assured that the attacks against the country’s military leaders respond to “the defeat of the fascist plan of the commandos who killed 27 honest and innocent Venezuelan citizens ” in the context of post-election violence instigated by leaders of opposition extremism.

Likewise, he said that the illegal sanctions are “decorations to the patriots, to those who fight, to those who do not surrender, to those who do not betray, to those who advance.”

For his part, Minister Ñáñez pointed out that he hopes to “live up to the sanction” and that he feels sanctioned since the first day that Barack Obama’s decree declared Venezuela as a threat. He argued that coercive measures against some Venezuelans “translate into sanctions and coercion for an entire country.”
