President Nicolás Maduro positively evaluated the electoral process to choose the spokesmen of the peasant councils throughout the national territory, highlighting that the peasantry has reaffirmed its commitment to sovereignty, agri -food security and the active defense of the territory.
During the 90th edition of Maduro +, the Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, said that the election day of vocers of the peasant councils, held last Saturday, was attended by an average of 1,000,000 citizens.
The elections were developed in 15,563 rural communities, “demonstrating the historical spirit forged in the loyalty, commitment and combat of the peasant people, being a town applied in the defense of their sovereignty and social welfare,” said León Heredia.
The President of the Republic, stressed that he could observe the weekend how the peasant movement has been strengthened, as well as the militia process, both of the peasants and the fishermen; which implies a clear expression of the popular constituent process of the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela.
Likewise, he urged creation for a peasant leadership school, connected to the great peasant union “Ezequiel Zamora”, which “would provide training tools to promote leadership in the youth of that sector.”
For his part, the Minister for Fishing and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, explained that Venezuela has experienced accelerated growth of social consciousness, which bets on the defense of sovereignty and the patriotic identity of the Bolivarian nation.
“The fisherman has clearly established that the absolute categorical imperative is the homeland,” he said.
The general commander of the Bolivarian militia, MG Orlando Romero Bolívar, said that these social movements have participated in the military enlistment process and assured that “Venezuela is going through historical times of triumphs and great experiences, experiencing the civic-military-political union attending the call to the defense of its homeland.”
Romero Bolívar reported that the instruction and training practices of the new militiamen of the Fatherland will begin soon.
President Maduro concluded that peace in Venezuela must be permanent, “the population is completely ready for the defense of their homeland against threats and imperialist aggressions, thus guaranteeing that the nation continues to be an impregnable and sovereign territory.”
