Maduro: The Electoral Chamber of the TSJ issued a historic and forceful ruling

President Nicolás Maduro was pleased to hear the ruling of the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice on the appeal he filed to review the results of the presidential elections of July 28.

“Today, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), after doing technical and scientific work based on the laws, has issued a historic and forceful ruling. We say: Absolute respect for the Powers of the State, for peace, and through justice, to follow the path of work, dialogue and national unity. Respect for the Constitution and the People!” he said during a mass event in the state of La Guaira, where he reinaugurated a monument destroyed by fascist violence in honor of Commander Hugo Chávez.

The head of state reflected that “when there is a dispute, a conflict between powers, who resolves it? Do we shoot each other? No, they have to go to court. That is what the gringos wanted, for there to be a spiral of violence so they could enter the country.”

He explained that when there is an electoral dispute, “the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has an answer for all the issues of our country. And in the case of an electoral dispute there is only one designated authority, that authority is the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.”

He cited as examples the cases of the United States, Brazil and Mexico, where elections were held and were subject to doubt, something that was clarified by the courts of those respective countries. “Each country has its own mechanisms; in our country, there are two options: the path of the Constitution, laws, institutions and peace, or the path of violence, hatred and civil war.

On the other hand, the president agreed with the National Assembly regarding the need to legislate a reform of all electoral laws in the country. “Enough of fascism. Reform of all electoral laws and prohibit those who ignore the institutions and intend to impose a fascist regime from participating in electoral events,” said the president.

He concluded by saying that it is time for the country to heal the wounds caused by fascism and continue building prosperity in peace. “We, the Chavista People, have the responsibility to heal the wounds of hatred, love must prevail,” he said.
